GREENWICH – A new destination for art and design has arrived downtown. Its name is Greenwich Art + Design, a two-level boutique and gallery at 7 East Putnam Ave.

The business founded by Suzanne Bellehumeur – a muralist and decorative painter –celebrated its grand opening on Sept. 25 with the debut of a solo exhibition by renowned-painter David Dunlop, which runs through Nov. 4.

“Greenwich Art + Design is a living canvas where fine art, distinctive home décor, fashion and design come together,” said Bellehumeur, whose own work has been featured in Vogue, HGTV, The New York Times. “Each piece is carefully curated to inspire — from one-of-a-kind fine art, home décor and luxury textiles, to furniture, jewelry and clothing that transform interiors and lives into something extraordinary — items that spark conversation, elevate interiors and celebrate artistry from around the world.”

The boutique and gallery embody Bellehumeur’s lifelong passion for transforming interiors into immersive, artistic environments. After decades of producing large-scale murals and custom finishes for private residences and design firms, she brings her unique eye to a permanent space that invites the public to explore the intersection of fine art and elevated living.

The business showcases unique items selected or created by Bellehumeur herself. Her own mural work and wall finishes are featured throughout the space. Bellehumeur also designed the clothing displays — artistic pieces suspended from the ceiling to avoid interference with visitors’ ability to see the wall murals — constructed by a female welder on a Native-American reservation in Canada.

Renowned-artist David Dunlop — whose luminous paintings of nature headline the gallery’s opening exhibition — praised the new space:

“Greenwich welcomes a stunningly-imaginative experience with Greenwich Art + Design,” Dunlop said. “As an accomplished artist herself, Suzanne Belhumeur has created an imaginative combination of fine-art gallery with a curated feast of eclectic home furnishings, fixtures, clothing, jewelry and art, which mingle excitedly here. The lower-level gallery offers an aesthetically charged environment dedicated to painting and the visual arts.”

Greenwich Art + Design offers a global selection of pieces across price points, including

fine art and murals, rotating exhibitions by global and local artists, custom pieces from Madagascar, neon light installations, vases and trays by Roberto Cavalli Home and Missoni, jewel-toned, ombré cashmere throws from Scotland, multimedia and decorative pillows and blankets by Christian Lacroix and Designers Guild. The boutique also offers fashion and accessories as well as furniture.

“The art gallery is a hidden sanctuary on the lower level of the store — an intimate space of discovery and delight,” added Bellehumeur. “Here, exhibitions will feature both local and global artists, offering ever-changing dialogues in art and design. It is a rare jewel that enhances the Greenwich Design District with depth, beauty and cultural resonance.”

Greenwich Art + Design offers a design experience rooted in craftsmanship, creativity and the belief that art belongs in every part of life.

“Suzanne Bellehumeur is one of the rare talents who can unite a store and art gallery in a magical, whimsical way — where art and design meet,” said Edward Tricomi, owner of Warren Tricomi. “With Greenwich Art + Design, Suzanne Bellehumeur has created a community-enriching design destination and a welcome addition to Greenwich.”
